Summer is just around the corner, and there are a few key trends we think you need to have on your radar. This summer is all about feel good fashion: Texture, ice-cream pastels, sheers, shaped heels & major denim.
These are the key trends which hit the catwalks in spring 2018, ready to make your summer a fashionable one:

Pretty in Pastels
Thinking of ice-cream by the seaside? This summer season twist will see this year’s favourite colours: ultra-violet and pale, sherbet hues.

We know that pastels are rarely unfashionable, but they’re usually eclipsed by their bold, bright counterparts. So, don’t be shy, go head-to-toe pastel.

This is literally all of your party clothes – sparkles, tassels, feathers, layers & plastics.
These are now a staple of every wardrobe. We know it was a trend last summer, but the world loves to recycle fashion: expect plastic clothes to be everywhere. April shower? Easy clean? You don’t have to tell us twice…

Frills and ruffles aren’t going anywhere either this summer either. You don’t have to go for the softer ruffles either, there are ways to cater this look to every style. Alexander McQueen showed off harder and more daring ruffles in the latest collection, whereas Preen & Giambattista showed us how to make ruffles & frills look gentle and cute.

Sequins and sparkles: expect this blinding trend to turn heads next season. Whether it’s innocent embellishments, full Hollywood glamour or girl-next-door party wear, there are enough sequins & glitter to go around.

Sheer outerwear

Risqué, we know, but this is one of summers ‘stand-out trends’ and dare we say… the more revealing, the chicer you look. You don’t need to be out of this world bold to rock this look either, there are all sorts of transparencies and colours available to suit everyone. Some of our favourite runway looks come from Missoni, Halpern and Fendi.

Double Denim, triple denim & denim accessories. There’s no such thing as too much denim this summer. Add it over ruffled layers to create extra shapes or try out some deconstructed denim. There are endless possibilities. Elizabeth and James also brought some signature denim boots to the catwalk and who are we to disagree?

Shaped Heels

Speaking of signature boots, don’t forget to jazz up your shoe collection. We want to see everything from curved heels, to classic chunky block heels. This year’s footwear collections are going to be exciting & if you team them with the right outfits, we’re certain you can conquer anything.
