Schott Perfecto

Schott Perfecto

In 1913, Irving and Jack Schott started their business, Schott NYC. As well as being the first designers to introduce zippers on jackets and so revolutionising the way we dress today, in 1928, Irving Schott designed and produced the first leather motorcycle jacket, naming it after his favourite cigar – the Perfecto. The durable jacket instantly became the symbol of excitement, adventure and danger. Made famous in the 50's, the age of Rock and Roll, by stars such as Marlon Brando and James Dean, and then again in the 70's by bands like The Ramones, Blondie, Joan Jett and The Sex Pistols. The jacket soon became uniform for fans and admirers across America and Worldwide. Schott NYC is still owned and run by the third and fourth generations of the Schott family who still manufacture their classic Perfecto style today.
